After months of waiting, we finally woke up this morning to a decent powder day up here in Breckenridge. I know I’m late on reporting all this, but I’ve been chained to my desk this morning and I’m counting down the minutes till my lunch break so I can get out there.
Breckenridge: 8″ in the last 24hrs, 11″ in the last 48hrs
Vail: 4″ in the last 24hrs, 6″ in the last 48hrs
Beaver Creek: 2″ in the last 24hrs, 3″ in the last 48hrs
So far this year, or even this season, this is the biggest over-night accumulation we’ve seen in Breck. Most of the snow this season has been dumping in the San Juans, so it’s nice to see that Mother Nature has finally decided to share the love.
In addition to bringing smiles to the faces of deprived powder hounds, the storm system that moved through last night also brought frigid temperatures.
Windchill values up above 12,000 ft. will be in the sub-zero teens today, but the sun should be shining so expect high temperatures in the low 20’s.
